The North Hollywood campus of Kaplan College is convenient to public transportation and is easily accessible from freeways 170 and 101. Kaplan College occupies 26,354 square feet of classrooms, labs, student lounges, administrative offices, computer labs, and work areas. Free parking is available, and our facility is handicap accessible.
Each Kaplan College program is taught in specially built classrooms and labs. Student lounge facilities are available and our on-campus library and learning resource center contain a variety of journals, publications, and other resources for research and general studies. The library offers computer services and Internet access, and is open to accommodate students during most College hours.
Equipment
In keeping with the high educational standards of Kaplan College, the equipment utilized in each program offers you the opportunity to develop a practical, working knowledge of the equipment and materials you may encounter on the job.
- Students enrolled in the medical assistant program utilize materials that include skeleton and torso models, autoclaves, centrifuges, electrocardiograph machines, sphygmomanometers, stethoscopes, lab materials, and personal computers with medical and office software programs.
- Students enrolled in the medical insurance specialist program utilize materials and equipment including anatomical charts, skeleton and torso models, slide/tape programs, personal computers with medical and office software programs, and transcription and 10-key machines.
- Students enrolled in the radiologic technology program utilize materials that include articulated skeletons, disarticulated bones, a penetrometer, radiographic training phantoms, x-ray illuminators and machines, and visual aids.
- Students enrolled in the x-ray technician/medical assistant back office program utilize radiologic technology equipment and materials used in the medical assisting program.
- Students enrolled in the diagnostic medical sonography/ultrasound, diagnostic cardiac sonography, and diagnostic vascular sonography programs utilize materials and equipment including the Ultrasim™ ultrasound training simulator. They also utilize the Acuson Aspen™ advanced ultrasound system, and multimedia equipment.
- Students enrolled in the vocational nursing program utilize materials including functional body system models, pregnancy pelvis models, multitype breast models, child and adult mannequins, handheld Plus™ oximeters, oxygen flowmeters, multimedia devices, and lab materials.
